I find myself trying mostly the free apps on the iPhone to see what they are like before buying them most of the time.
I’m going to make this a two part post. Suggesting free apps and paid versions.
My top 3 free apps are:
-
TwitBird (Twitter App)
This new Twitter app uses the lists feature just like the web version of twitter. Most of the other paid versions and non paid versions of Twitter for the iPhone don’t have support for #lists, or maybe it’s just the ones I have. It also lets you ad more then one user and send and view direct messages, and some cool themes. -
TuneWiki (Music Lyrics / Album Art)
A fun new interface to scroll through your music. I like seeing the lyrics which scroll at the same time as the track plays. The only thing is the ads can get a bit repetitive and get old. If their is a paid version I would probably buy it. There is also support for music videos which you can watch on the YouTube player. I haven’t tried the WiFi radio player because I’m usually on the train when I listen to music so the WiFi or 3G is sparse. Try it out and let me know of features I left out. -
vTie (Virtual Tie)
Well like most programmers or non-traditional new media rockstars. You will not catch me wearing a tie. I did not know how to tie one or let alone the 5 different styles of ties you can learn how to. I think I attempted three of them so far. It shows visual picture very “ikea like” on how to put a tie together. I have gone to a couple of formal outings and this app saved me from being the guy with the bow tie on.
My top 3 paid apps are:
-
MX Mayhem (Moto X Game – 99 cents)
Well basically I think the developer of this game is quite loyal to it’s buyers they manager to make several updates that include new levels, funny bear costumes, and more to come. -
Cooperism (Sheldon Cooper from Big Band Theory – 99 cents)
This app might not be for everyone I am just a big bang theory fan and thought it would be fun to see the list of Sheldon’s quotes. -
iVidCam (Video for a 3G – 2G iPhone -1.99)
My phone did not come with the ability to shoot video like the 3GS does so I bought this app and you can shoot widescreen video as well as horizontal. The quality isn’t that good the sound doesn’t seem to be all there, but the app works and you can publish directly to youtube after it encodes. There might be a better one out there, but I like this one at the time.
